ICA’s Annual Membership Meeting Set for November 8

Mark your calendar now, and save Thursday, November 8 for the ICA Annual Membership Meeting. The event will take place at Primo South Banquet & Conference Center in Indianapolis and will feature enlightening speakers as well as relationship-building and networking opportunities. All members – both long-time and new – are encouraged to attend. We look forward to seeing you on November 8.

Building Division – ICA, Inc. Board of Directors Meeting Scheduled

Building Division – ICA, Inc. Chairman Bruce Wylam has scheduled a meeting of the Board of Directors for 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18. The Board will review and discuss draft legislation on the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), also known as Construction Manager as Constructor (CMc), concept for buildings at state educational institutions. The meeting will take place at the association office located at One North Capitol Avenue, Suite 1000, downtown Indianapolis.

ICA Board of Directors Meeting Scheduled

ICA Chairman Bruce Wylam has scheduled the next Board of Directors meeting for 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18. The meeting will take place at the association office in downtown Indianapolis.

Support the LDC Donor Day Blood Drive on July 19

The Leadership Development Committee (LDC) reminds all ICA members to support the ICA LDC Donor Day Blood Drive on Thursday, July 19 between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Roll up your sleeves and donate life-saving blood. Click here to make an appointment. Bring a picture ID, and eat a light snack before donating. Do not fast. The donation center offers free parking, juice and cookies. ICA Southwest Safety Forum to Meet on August 1

The ICA Southwest Safety Forum will meet at 1:00 p.m. (CDT) on Wednesday, August 1 in Browning Events Room A of the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library located at 200 SE Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Evansville. During this fast-moving program, several experts will share their knowledge of comprehensive human resources management and planning. Building Contractors Conference Explores Industry Best Practices

The 2012 Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America Building Contractors Conference, scheduled for September 12 – 15 in Charleston, South Carolina, will bring together high-level industry leaders to discuss essential issues, share best practices and explore challenges and solutions. Topics include marketing, lean construction, building information modeling (BIM) for small- to mid-size businesses and more. For more information, or to register, click here.

AGC Scholarship Application Available Online

While the deadline to apply for the AGC of America Education and Research Foundation Scholarship is in November, students may get a jump on the process by starting now. Click here for an application and scholarship eligibility information. Undergraduates in ABET or ACCE-accredited civil engineering or construction management programs are eligible for $2,500 scholarships, renewable for up to three years. Graduate students are eligible for $3,750 annually for up to two years.
